Diabetic Management Education:

Every individual with diabetes is unique and deserves an individualized diabetes management plan.  Knowledge of current management tools and strategies is essential for long term blood glucose control.

Diabetes can be an intimidating and overwhelming diagnosis.  Individualized instruction for the newly diagnosed includes the what and why of diabetes, home glucose monitoring, dietary and medication management, and reducing the risks of long term complications.  Individuals who have had diabetes for years can benefit from learning about new management techniques and receiving assistance in identifying barriers to good blood glucose control.

Suzanne Lambeth, our certified diabetes educator, has over 20 years experience working with patients and families.  She offers education and problem solving in a supportive environment and encourages family members to attend appointments.  She is also a certified insulin pump trainer and is author of the book, "The Diabetes Experience:  Understanding the Medical and Emotional Challenges of Living with Diabetes."
