In 1976 Dr. David N. Spencer, a native of Pullman, returned to his hometown and opened a new, solo family practice office. The original office was located on Nye Street behind Dissmores. 

Dr. Richard Emtman, a lifelong resident of Eastern WA and one of Dr. Spencer's WAMI medical students in 1977-1978, joined the practice in 1984 following completion of his residency at Spokane Family Medicine. 

As the practices of both Dr. Spencer and Emtman expanded, the need for increased office space and improved office efficiency prompted the building of the current office. Following a two and one half year planning process, the new office opened its doors, on schedule, in September of 1991.   The new 7000+ square foot facility allowed for the immediate addition of new healthcare providers to the community. Today, the group consists of 7 health care providers, employing more than 30 full and part-time employees.
