note that although PFM uses a secure website to transmit all PHI
(protected health information) and personal information, there are still
risks and responsibilities involved in using email as a form of
communication. Please thoroughly read our Email Consent Form prior to
making this decision.

Email Encryption Policy:
Pullman Family Medicine encrypts all Protected Health Information (PHI)
e-mail communication as part of our practice security policy in
compliance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act
(HIPAA) and the Health Information Technology Act (HITECH).
All outgoing (Internet) PHI e-mail from Pullman Family Medicine will be
encrypted and delivered to the recipient's e-mail address via INHS
Secure E-Mail.
If you do not have INHS Secure E-Mail, you can still receive e-mails
sent from Pullman Family Medicine. When PFM sends you an encrypted
e-mail message, you will receive an email notice in your inbox directing
you to our secure mail Web site. There you can register a private
password and receive and reply to our secure messages at no cost.
